Interdisciplinary Programme in Educational Technology (IDP-ET)
The current focus area of research of the IDP-ET is the development of pan-domain cognitive abilities. These include engineering design thinking, systems thinking, computational thinking, deductive reasoning, troubleshooting, scientific modeling, feasibility analysis, estimation, problem-posing, data representation & analysis and so on. While the focus primarily targets undergraduate students, the scope also includes thinking skills for school students or teachers.
Towards these goals, the IDP in Educational Technology seeks faculty candidates with a research expertise in one or more of the following: pedagogy and assessment for technology enhanced learning, computer supported collaborative learning, theoretical underpinnings for technology enhanced learning, educational psychology, cognitive science, human-computer interaction, design and development of AI and ICT based tools, game-based learning, virtual worlds, learning analytics, mobile learning. Candidates with a strong record in other areas of educational technology, discipline-based education research, and related fields are also encouraged to apply.
Candidates are expected to have a demonstrated publication record in the above areas, or a demonstrated interest in educational technologies and methodologies by means of post-doctoral field experience. For all candidates, we seek exceptional skills to bring rigour and structure to the problems in the IDP-ET’s focus areas of research. Solution approaches can include a variety of research methodologies including quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, design-based research; and a variety of perspectives such as cognitive, psychological, technological, socio-cultural, ecological and integrated perspectives.
In addition to maintaining a strong research programme, faculty members in the IDP in Educational Technology are expected to teach and develop graduate level courses, guide doctoral students and contribute to the academic growth of the IDP-ET. They are encouraged to participate and contribute in development and outreach activities in educational technology, such as the National Mission in Education through ICT.
We seek candidates at the Assistant, Associate and Professor’s positions. We also welcome applications for Adjunct and short-term Visiting faculty appointments.
