Anita S. Diwakar,

Doctoral Research Scholar, IDP in Educational Technology, IIT Bombay

I am a PhD student in the Inter-Disciplinary Program in Educational Techology at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. My research interest is Effectiveness of Virtual laboratories in engineering education.I am working under the guidance of Prof.Santosh Noronha. I am developing a tool for the engineering faculty so that they can integrate virtual laboratories in their teaching. Through this tool I also provide guidelines for the faculty for effective integration of virtual labs. These guidelines cover the four aspects - Selection of Virtual lab for the target learning objectives, Selection of tasks based on their cognitive structure, Selection of Assessment method and Selection of Assessment questions aligned to the learning objectives. My work is with Virtual laboratories in Electronics Engineering domain as I have been working in UG engineering for the past 24 years in Electronics and allied domains.

Research Interests

Virtual laboratories, Remote triggered laboratories, ABET laboratory objectives, Lab work task profiles, Engineering education, Lab work task assessments.

I have done Bachelors of Techology in Electronics Engineering in 1990, and completed my Masters of Engineering in Electronics in 2008 with specialization in Image Processing. Following is a highlight of the courses which I studied in Ph.D. and Masters
Research Methodology in Educational Technology, Fundamentals of Educational Technology, IT Project Management, Intelligent Tutoring Systems, Cognitive Science, Biomedical Electronics, Advanced Digital Signal Processing, Advanced Communication Theory and Embedded Systems.
