I am a second year PhD student in the inter-disciplinary programme - Educational Technology at IIT - Bombay. My research interest is in teaching - learning of troubleshooting skill in Computer Science undergraduates. CS undergrauates are usually taught programming, designing and developing applications. Troubleshooting, which is an important element of all these activities is not given much focus.

Troubleshooting is more relevant in workplace, where one has to work with different technologies and new/changing specifications. So there is also a need to look at troubleshooting as a generalizable thinking skill than compared to procedures applicable in a specific context. I intend to design an intervention to teach troubleshooting as a thinking skill.
